What do I need to run Grabd?
An iPhone running iOS 26 or later, and a Grabd account. The account is what lets your library follow you between your devices β save something on your phone and it's on your Mac too.
You can sign up with an email address, with Apple, or with Google.
How do I save my first thing?
Whichever of these suits the moment:
- In any app, tap the share button and choose Grabd.
- Open Grabd and paste a link, or pick a photo or screenshot.
- Open Grabd and record a voice note β just say the thing.
You don't need to name it, tag it or file it. Grabd does that part.
Do I have to pay?
Grabd is free to start. If you take out a Grabd Pro subscription, Apple handles the payment and it's billed to your Apple Account.
To see, change or cancel a subscription, go to your Apple Account subscriptions, or on your iPhone open Settings βΊ your name βΊ Subscriptions. Cancelling there stops it renewing; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
Saving things
Grabd isn't in my share sheet
iOS hides apps from the share sheet until you turn them on. To fix it:
- Tap the share button in any app.
- Scroll the row of app icons to the end and tap More.
- Tap Edit, switch Grabd on, and drag it up the list.
It's worth doing the same in the row of actions underneath, where Add to Grabd lives β tap Edit Actions and add it to your favourites so it's always one tap away.
What kinds of things can Grabd handle?
Fourteen kinds, each with its own useful details: places and restaurants, recipes, films and shows, books, products, music, games, events, apps, articles, how-to guides, things you like the look of, plain notes, and developer bug reports.
A restaurant comes back with an address, opening hours and reviews. A recipe comes back with ingredients and a method. A product comes back with a price.
Grabd filed something under the wrong kind
It happens, especially with a page that could reasonably be two things at once. Open the grab and change it yourself β nothing Grabd decides is locked.
If a particular site gets it wrong every time, that's useful to us. Send us the link and we'll take a look.
Can I use Grabd without a signal?
Saving works offline β the thing is kept on your device and goes up when you're back online.
Working out what it is, filling in the details, syncing to your other devices and the Explore feed all need a connection, so those wait until you have one.
How do voice notes work?
Press record and talk. Your iPhone writes down what you said β the transcription happens on the device itself β and Grabd then gives the note a title and files it.
Because the words are saved along with the note, you can search for it later using the words you actually used.
Finding things
How does search work?
Search looks across everything Grabd holds about a thing: its title, its summary, its tags, its address, notes you typed, and the words from your voice notes.
It matches the text you type, so a word you remember from the thing works better than a description of it. Searching βramenβ will find the ramen place; searching βthat place we went to in autumnβ won't.
What are collections?
Groups you name yourself β a trip, a kitchen renovation, a reading list. A thing can sit in a collection and still show up everywhere else.
Pin the collections you're in the middle of and they stay at the top.
What happens when I archive something?
It comes out of your main view but it isn't deleted, and search still finds it. It's for things you're finished with but don't want to lose.
Grabd on the Mac
Does my library sync between my iPhone and my Mac?
Yes, as long as you're signed in to the same account on both. Anything you save on one appears on the other.
How do I save things on the Mac?
- Drag and drop a picture, a link, a file or some text onto the window.
- Press β₯ G from any app to open the quick-grab panel with whatever you've copied.
- Press β β§ V to save straight from the clipboard.
- Use the menu bar icon without bringing the main window forward.
Useful Mac shortcuts
- β K β search everything
- β N β new grab
- β β₯ N β new note
- β β§ B β new developer report
- β 1 to β 4 β Home, Dev Inbox, Explore, Collections
- β β G / β β F β switch between grid and flip deck
β₯ G isn't doing anything
Grabd has to be running for the shortcut to work β it can be in the background or just in the menu bar, but it has to be open.
If another app has claimed β₯ G first, that app wins and Grabd never sees the key press. Quitting the other app is the quickest way to tell whether that's what's happening.
AI and privacy
How do I turn the AI analysis on or off?
Go to You βΊ Analysis and switch AI analysis for new grabs on or off. You can change your mind as often as you like.
It starts off. Before anything is sent anywhere, Grabd shows you what would be sent and who would process it, and asks.
What happens if I leave it off?
Grabd still saves everything, still syncs it between your devices, and still searches it. It just doesn't read it β so you won't get the automatic titles, summaries, addresses, opening hours or prices.
What gets sent, and to whom?
With analysis on: the link you saved and what's on the page, pictures you attach, voice notes you record, and short-form videos you save. These go to Google's Gemini models, which work out what the thing is and write its title and summary.
The privacy policy sets this out in full.
Does Grabd show ads or track me?
There are no ads inside Grabd, and nothing in your library is ever used for advertising.
We do advertise Grabd elsewhere, so when you install it we measure which ad or link brought you here, and we tell Meta when a subscription starts. iOS asks your permission for that first, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Saying no costs you nothing β the app, your library and your subscription behave identically either way. You can change the answer whenever you like in Settings βΊ Privacy & Security βΊ Tracking.
Sharing a note
How do I share a note with someone?
Open the note and choose Create a link. Grabd puts a copy of that note on the web and gives you its address.
This is per note. There's no setting that publishes your library, and no page or link exists until you ask for one.
What ends up on the page?
The note's title, what you wrote, the written-out words from anything you said, whatever you attached, and the date you shared it.
The recording itself never goes on the page. A shared note publishes what was said, never the voice that said it.
Anyone with the link can read it β no account and no app needed. The address has a long random identifier in it so it can't be guessed, and the page asks search engines not to list it, but it is a genuinely public web page. Treat the link the way you'd treat the note.
How do I stop sharing?
Open the note and choose Stop sharing. The published copy is deleted and the link stops working for everyone straight away.
Anything someone already downloaded while the page was up can't be called back.
Account and data
How do I delete everything I've saved?
Go to You βΊ Data & Privacy βΊ Reset / Delete All. This clears your library β the things you saved, their pictures, your recordings, and any notes you'd published β and keeps your account.
How do I delete my account?
Go to You βΊ Account βΊ Delete Account. That removes your account and everything filed under it: your profile, everything you saved, the pictures and recordings, and every note you'd published.
It can't be undone.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to correct it, restrict or object to how we use it, take it elsewhere, or withdraw your consent.
Email us and we'll handle it. We may need to confirm you're the account holder first.

For developers
How do bug reports become GitHub issues?
Take a screenshot of what went wrong and say what you expected instead. Grabd writes it up properly β the screen, what happened, what should have happened.
Connect GitHub once, and after that any report can be filed as a real, numbered issue in the repository you pick. There's nothing to install in the app you're testing.
How do I disconnect GitHub?
Go to You βΊ GitHub βΊ Disconnect GitHub, then remove the app's installation from your GitHub settings as well, so it no longer has access on GitHub's side.
Still stuck?
Write to us and tell us what's going on. Include your device and what you were doing when it happened, and we'll get to the bottom of it.
